Sam Doores and the Tumbleweeds is a honky tonk, old country-blues, early rock n’ roll, gospel influenced New Orleans based band. The band hearken back to a simpler time, when Rock N' Roll, Honky Tonk and Soul music were pure and reigned supreme.
Sam Doores & The Tumbleweeds bring these influences together in perfect harmony, from Gospel inspired tunes to real live Honky Tonk, these boys make real Americana music that allows you to lose yourself in it's solemn timelessness as well as kick you out of your chair and lose yourself in the up-tempo beauty of it all.
Their touring schedule is that of road devoted young men with nothing to lose, even if they sound like old men from the south. They are currently in the process of self releasing their debut album slated for May 5, 2012 release to coincide with their New Orleans Jazz fest appearance.
"Sam Doores & The Tumbleweeds (from New Orleans, Louisiana) reach a bit further back into Americana history to earlier blues, gospel, folk, and country. Here you’ll find the call and response style field song ("I Got Found”) to foot stompin’ country ("Passing Through”), to 60’s folk style with a doo-wappin’ guitar ("Depression Blues” – based on "I’m So Depressed” by Abner Jay). This is modern day honky-tonk styling at its best."
